Materials:
- Several sheets of small memo-sized paper or stickums
- Pencil(s)
- Colored pencils, crayons and/or markers, etc.
- Scotch tape
Directions:
- Take several sheets of small memo-sized paper or stickums.
- For your first flip book keep the character simple. Draw a
circle for a head on one sheet of paper.
- Trace the outline of the head on each piece of paper.
- Add eyes, nose, mouth on the first sheet of paper.
- Now, on each piece of paper, change the position of the eyes and mouth a tiny bit, just
a fraction of an inch.
- When you have sketched the movements of
the eyes and mouth, hold the pages together at the top and
flip the pages to see if the eyes and mouth move the way you want
them to move.
- Correct mistakes.
- Test the book again.
- When the face moves the way you want, take a piece of scotch tape
and wrap the top of the book, being careful that you don't tape
the top of the head.
- Here's your chance to add color to
your flip book. Color the background, the eyes and mouth.
- You've made your own cartoon/movie!
Tips:
- Use pencil for the first flip book you make.
- As your skills get better, try using markers or crayons.
- As your work gets better, add backgrounds and other characterscreate a book with your own family as the characters!
